  1. The thing I liked most about the book was the friendships because if there were no friendships in the book it would be really boring. If Lily never met Margaret she wouldn't be able to have a house to do all of her sneaky things in. If Lily wasn’t friends with Albert they wouldn’t have had all of the fun adventures together. One thing I didn’t like was that Lily dropped the key into a package bag. The reason why I didn’t like that is because maybe Margaret needed another thing from her house and Lily didn’t have the key so Lily wouldn’t be able to get what Margaret wanted. I also didn’t like that Albert’s parents wrote that newspaper article. The reason why I didn’t like that was because Albert wouldn’t have lost them. What I wished that didn’t happened that I wanted to happened was that Albert’s parents wrote mean things about Hitler and the Nazis but they never published it into an article. Then Albert would have a full family instead of having a sister left.

  2. The part that I liked the best is when, Lily realises that lies do not get you anywhere or get you anything but, that lies just get you into more trouble than you were in before you lied. When Lily learned it was best not to lie more people will trust you and the more people that trust you the more likely you will have friends. I was surprised and though good for you Lily when Lily and Albert made that promise to not lie to anyone no matter what. The part that I did not like was when Albert was in the ocean a storm that bad had to happen. I would keep the storm in the story but I would just make the storm less wild. I would do this because some of the parts were a little confusing to me. I like the way that the story ends and but I did not like that the end was a cliffhanger and that it was a little sad. It was a cliffhanger because I just end with Albert saying “It’s Lily, it’s my best friend, Lily,”to his sister Ruth that has finally come to America. The ending is a little sad because Lily finally knows just how much Gram loves her and that she finally gets to see Albert and his sister Ruth for the summer. I there was something that I wished that did not happen would be Eddie Dillon not getting lost because of all the descriptions that Lily has given us makes me want to met him as a character in the book and that the Dillons can come home.

    1. The part I liked was when you said Lily and Albert made a promise that they would never lie again. I liked that because you are right lying doesn’t give you any good. Good job. :-)

  3. The thing that I enjoyed the most about the book is how Lily changes in the story because it really makes you feel like some of your worst habits can be fixed if you put your mind to it and some bad habits can be changed in a weird situation, like when Lily lied to Albert and Albert was really really heart broken which made Lily think of Albert when ever she lies so she stops. In this book Lily’s crossing I have really loved the story so I can not think of anything that I would want to change because in the story there is a purpose for everything that happens because if Margaret had not left with her family Lily would of not befriended Albert. In this book there was nothing that I did not like because there has been so much meaning the story that I would never want to change. I Love the way this story ends because everyone is happy and not that Many people are hurt and stuff.

  4. What I liked about the book was the end; The end of the book had so much detail and description, it really pulled me in to keep on reading. What I did not like about the book was it never gave me perspectives of the characters, I loved the book I hope they make another to the book so I can one read that one to. What I wished to happen was if Lily’s parents adopted Albert and have a good life. What I also wished that happened is if Margaret stayed in Rockaway.

  5. Lily’s Crossing has ended and there is tons of things to say and ask about things that happened. There were lots of things I enjoyed about it. Two things that I really liked about in the book is when Lily saved the cat and Albert and Lily started to take care of it. I liked this part because it helped Lily to became friends with Albert. If this did not happen in the book Lily and Albert would not be friends and this book would probably be very boring because there would be no point. The second reason I enjoyed this book is the story’s time period. I like it when it was in the 1900 because it was about World War ll and it made the book more interesting when the war made the characters have problems. Like when Lily had to go and find something to do for the whole summer because Poppy had to go fight in the war. Thats one thing that the war caused.
All though there was some great parts in the book there was also a part in the book that I didn’t like that happen . One part that I did not like about this book is when the boy through Paprika in the water. I do not like this part because I do not want to hear that in the 1940s people did not care if kids were trying to kill an animals. But I am glad that it happened in this story though because then after that happened Lily and Albert started to become friends.
At the end of this book there was lots of things going on. I think the ending was sad. I cried a little. The reason the ending was sad to me is because there was a horrible war and the fact that Albert and Ruth were now together after Albert was in America and Ruth was in France I thought that was really cool. Lily and Poppy were together to so that was really good that Poppy didn’t die when he was in the war like Eddie did. Everything is back to normal but nothing will ever be the same.
