  1. I think the key is so important to Lily because it keeps a good memory. When Lily is walking around she can look at the key and remember how thoughtful Margaret was to her and how much fun they always used to have when they were together. Second, Lily could also be having a tough time and need to look at the key Margaret gave to her the key could make her feel better. Third, Lily could look at the key and be transported to a world where Margaret never leaves her side and they can go through tough times and they can work it out together as friends and they never get sad because they never leave each other’s side so they can never leave even if their parents have to move.

    1. I like your response Meghan. Do you think Lily will get into trouble by snooping around Margaret's house?

I think this would be a good gift for Lily because it allows her to be alone and away from people that annoy her. Most of all It gets her away from Gram, like when Gram asked Lily to set the table, Lily won’t have to do that when she is in the attic. If Gram asked Lily where she was Lily won’t have a problem saying she was at the beach because she lies a lot and she is pretty good at it. Even though this is good for Lily in some ways it is also bad. She could get caught by Gram or the neighbors, by them seeing her going through the back door. She also could accidentally break something in Marguerite’s house and when they come home Marguerite's mother will see that someone was in the house while they were gone. Marguarite will have to tell her mother that Lily was there at the house. Both of these things would end up getting both girls in big big trouble, but to Lily it would be worth it.
